Paula Bonnell’s poems have appeared recently in APR,Gargoyle,The Hopkins Review, The Hudson Review, andRattle. Her poetry collections are the new chapbook Before the Alphabet, a story in poems, preceded by Airs & Voices, selected by Mark Jarman for the Ciardi Prize, and Message, including “Midwest,” as heard on The Writer’s Almanac, and “Eurydice,” chosen by Albert Goldbarth for a Poet Lore narrative-poetry prize. After earning a J.D. from Harvard Law School, she practiced law (with a principal focus on creditors’ rights) in Boston.
