Born and raised in West Virginia, Jodie Childers is a writer and
documentary filmmaker based in Queens, NY. She received a
PhD from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst and an MFA
from Brooklyn College. Her work has been published in Boulevard,
The Journal of Working-Class Studies, The Hopkins Review, Appalachian
Reckoning, Poetry East, and the Portland Review, among others. She
received the Dorothy Sargent Rosenberg Prize for Poetry and
the Leifur Eiríksson Foundation Fellowship for her dissertation
research on Icelandic fiction.
