AUTHOR’S NOTE: While “Eulogy” is a work of fiction, several lines in the rabbi’s eulogy were taken from an actual eulogy delivered by Rabbi Bennett F. Miller honoring my father, Dr. Jerome Rolnick, of blessed memory, on July 3, 2015. I remain grateful for those words, which helped inspire this story and bring me comfort to this day. They are used here with permission.
