Zbigniew A. Królicki is the prolific translator of over two hundred novels from English into Polish, including the works of Stephen King, Philip K. Dick, Arthur C. Clarke, Isaac Asimov, James Herriot, and eight books within the Conan series. By training a mycologist (a specialist in fungi) as well as formerly a lecturer at the Medical Academy of Wrocław, for many years he has lived and translated in Goworów, a small village located in the Kłodzko Valley in southern Poland. He is also an avid photographer and mountain hiker, ranging from the Carpathians to the Henry Mountains of southern Utah.
