When people die they go to Heaven and
get all judged-up by God and get to stay
if they’ve been better than bad, good that is
—but get sent down to Hell if they’ve been bad
and that’s the story of Eternity
though it’s not really a story, more like
a tale but not so much a tale, neither,
maybe something like an anecdote but
there again, etc., so suffice
it to say that it’s only truth, at least
according to our church and Sunday School
and after class this morning I hit our
teacher with How do we know we’re right,
ma’am, and she said If class weren’t over
with, Gale, I’d throw you out of it. That’s how.
