As a kid, Candace Pearson spent many happy afternoons in the batting cages at Sam Lynn Ball Park, home to a farm team in California farm country. Her poems have appeared in leading journals and anthologies, most re cently Wide Awake: Poets of Los Angeles and Beyond. A multiple Pushcart Prize nominee, she won the Liam Rector First Book Prize for Poetry for her collection, Hour of Unfolding.
